With 2020 just around the corner, it’s time to start considering some New Year’s resolutions. This year why not ditch the usual ones and instead endeavour to take more adventures and explore some of Scotland’s most beautiful places.
To help you get started, we’ve suggested a few New Year’s resolutions for outdoor lovers.
Explore a National Park or National Nature Reserve
In Scotland alone there are 2 national parks, with the simply stunning Cairngorms being the largest in the UK. In addition, there are 45 National Nature Reserves so there’s bound to be a place you’ve not visited.
These parks and reserves are the perfect place for hiking, camping and getting the family together. Yet, each place also offers something different. So, set yourself the goal of visiting one or two parks or reserves this year. Our friends at VisitScotland will be at our show from the 6-9 February and are a great source of inspiration for the best places to visit.
We would love to know which ones are your favourite!
Take up photography
Photography is the perfect way to capture, and remember, the beautiful scenery and wildlife which surrounds you on a touring holiday. It is hobby which tends to go hand in hand in with the outdoors but being able to take good photos takes practice and there is no better time to start than 2020.
Share your photos on social media and tag @caravanshowsec so we can admire your holidays and photography skills.
Take a break from technology
Camping and motor-homing holidays are a perfect escapism from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You have the rare opportunity to truly recharge, relax and disconnect from the ‘real world.’ So why not set yourself the challenge of putting your phone on airplane mode when you next go touring.
We guarantee that you will make brilliant memories and will enjoy being disconnected for a few days.
Take more mini trips
Planning a week long touring holiday can take some thought and time. If these factors have put you off in the past then why not start with mini trips. A weekend getaway to the Scottish Highlands is relatively cheap, doesn’t involve excess planning and will work wonders for your stress levels.
Our show sponsor, BC Motorhomes has a fabulous range of motorhomes available and can help you choose the right vehicle for your style of trip.
So put a few dates in the diary and try getting your tent or motorhome out once every 2 months.
Learn a new skill
It’s easy to get stuck in a routine, even on a touring holiday. So, in 2020 why not set yourself the challenge of learning something new. This could be how to change a motor-home tyre, or even how to cook fajitas on your portable BBQ.
If you need some inspiration why not pop down to our show on 6-9th Feb at the SEC Glasgow. Experts will be on hand to answer questions and with the variety of products on show you’ll certainly find something new to try.
