Our team are keen to chat with you all about our 'Nature Calls' project, which asks everyone to ‘Bin the wipe’ as many wipes contain plastic, block sewers, harm nature and spoil rivers and beaches. We will be highlighting the need to always bin wipes whether at home or on holiday.
Despite over 73% of our customers saying they would never flush wipes, 80% of all sewer blockages are caused by them - yuck! So, we still have a long way to go: there were over 34,000 sewer blockages across Scotland last year, costing around £7m to clear up. We will also be talking to customers about our reservoirs, the Scottish Outdoor Access Code and the water safety.
