CARAVAN SHOW SETS NEW SECC RECORD

The SECC’s largest ever Exhibition has set new records thanks to the imaginative use of space throughout the award-winning Glasgow venue. The Scottish Caravan, Motorhome & Holiday Home Show welcomed a staggering 25,000 visitors from all over Scotland and the North of England over four days earlier this month. Organised by QD Events Ltd the show boasts the largest display of caravans, motorhomes and holi-day homes in Scotland with all of the SECC’s 22,500 sq.m. floor space as well as an additional 1,000 sq.m. temporary structure outside the building used to accommodate over 200 exhibitors.

Commenting on the success of the show, Jamie Taylor, Director of the Scottish Caravan, Motorhome & Holiday Home Show said: “We’re keen to attract the young family audience who grow with the show year on year.

“This means upselling from camping to caravanning to motorhomes and holiday homes. Our cam-paign was designed with these visitors in mind and in order to attract them, we had to offer them the breadth and depth of content they were looking for and could afford. The only way of doing this was to extend the venue beyond its traditional hall walls and challenge the norm, with exhibitors taking an average of 16% more space than last year, this meant getting creative about all the available spaces within the venue”.

Commenting on the show, Director of Exhibition Sales at the SECC, Dan Thurlow, said: “This year’s Scottish Caravan show was a fantastic event with an increase in all aspects of the show, including a 15% increase in use of floor space. It looked great, ran fantastically well and QD used the venue’s versatility to full effect creating an event of real scale but with areas for more personalised engagement. It’s the largest exhibition in the SECC’s history and shows the opportunity but also the enthusiasm, for such events in Scotland”.
